Misinterpretation

As I shared before, last year it was my goal and I successfully read the entire Bible. Now I know everything there is to know about God's word. WRONG!!! Not even close. If the Bible were that easy to understand, there would be no need for ongoing Bible study. We could read it and be done with it. In some ways, the Bible is so simple and in other ways, it's so difficult. I remember before I became a Christian, I would try to read the Bible but it made absolutely no sense. First of all, I was reading out of obligation, not out of desire. Secondly, I was reading without the guidance of the holy spirit. (yes, I went there, getting all spiritual). The Bible is an amazing book, inspired by God and given to us for our guidance and instruction. You don't have to read the entire book but we do need to be careful about taking verses out of context.
