Tennessee Waterfalls

There are countless waterfalls in Tennessee and North Carolina. Tennessee is home to well over 200 waterfalls and North Carolina is home to well over 300 waterfalls. That's a lot waterfalls! If you've done any hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, you have probably been to the most popular and most crowded waterfalls -- Grotto Falls, Laurel Falls and Abrams Falls. These were the first hikes we did when began hiking. As I began thinking about all the waterfalls we have hiked to just in the state of Tennessee, I put together a list and came up with 33 falls. We've also been to about the same number of falls in North Carolina. What can I say, I love waterfalls. Waterfalls

If you come in my office at work, you will see a framed picture of a waterfall. It's actually the double waterfall from Fantasy Island.  We took the picture when we were in Hawaii. I have other waterfall pictures in my house and if you look at my facebook page, you will see lots of waterfall pictures. It's obvious that I love waterfalls. Who hasn't heard of Niagara Falls? We went there a few years ago and visited both the Canada side and the US side. The Canadian side is much better and it's worth it to get your passport so you can see both sides.  My only disappointment with Niagara Falls was that there was no opportunity to go hiking. Don't get me wrong, the falls is incredible and we had a great time but for me, the enjoyment comes from the hike. It's just not the same if you don't have to work for the reward of seeing the falls.
